Pangerang Community Hub has been working for several years to improve digital literacy.

“We’re really pleased to continue our commitment to bridging the digital divide by enhancing digital literacy within our region,” said Pangerang Community Hub Executive Officer Tennille Hall. “It’s involved conducting workshops, advocating for individuals and cohorts with limited digital skills at meetings and local events, raising awareness and supporting and collaborating with other organisations who share this mission.

“It’s gratifying for our staff to have organisations seeking our services and requesting our participation in this important area.”

Examples of the work Pangerang has been doing in this space includes:
• Invited to join the Ovens & Murray Digital Futures Coordination Group (led by Ovens & Murray Partnership in support of the Ovens & Murray Digital Plan)
• Facilitating workshops across two days at the Rural Women Online, North East Digital Intensive
• Supporting Seymour & District Community House to establish a sustainable Be Connected program at their House in Seymour
• Continuing to provide free workshops at Pangerang Community Hub and through the Mobile Hub, as well as one on one support
• Raising awareness for important issues, such as the shutting down of the 3G network which may effect people (particularly vulnerable people) in more ways than just their mobile phones.

“We will be running some workshops about this over the next couple of months, with involvement from Telstra staff, so keep an eye out for these."
